With Patternette, you can create any women’s sewing pattern: a top, a blouse, a skirt, trousers, a dress, or a jumpsuit. But I know that it can sometimes be difficult to envision the pattern’s final result from a drawing. That’s why I’d like to introduce you to the mood boards used to design Patternette’s very first collection. Here you will find details on the fabrics used, the options to select on the silhouette, and the finishing options to choose if you want to create the same garments.
Chloé is wearing a retro outfit featuring a A-line skirt and a blouse with a stunning open back effect.
To make this set, here are a few things you need to know. When making the skirt, you can choose between sewing a facing or a waistband. In this case, the skirt features a waistband. To make the blouse, you can add wrist cuffs or make simples bishop sleeves. This version has cuffs. Finally, as for the tie top, the waistband has been cut twice on the fold so that it can fully wrap around the waist. If you cut it only once, then it will be long enough to only be fastened at the back, as shown in the illustration on the left.

Klaudia wears a casual-chic outfit: high-waisted bootcut trousers in faux leather and a white top. It’s a simple, yet effective outfit which you can accessorise … or not!
To make this outfit, here are a few things you need to know. When making the trousers, you can choose between sewing a facing or a waistband. To achieve the same look, pick the waistband.

Inès is wearing a boho-chic dress, perfect for the hot summer weather.
To make this dress, simply select the options shown on the left. Only cut one sleeve – not two as instructed by the pattern – as the top is asymmetrical! The second sleeve won’t serve any purpose. If you choose the same fabric as Inès’s dress, then make sure you have a lining because the broderie anglaise is see-through! Therefore, cut out all the pieces in your lining too. It isn’t necessary for the skirt flounce. In this version, the flounce is not lined.
About fabrics
- Main fabric: orange broderie anglaise, available from Les Coupons de Saint Pierre.
- Lining : terracotta linen from Les Coupons de Saint Pierre.
Héloïse is wearing a classic jumpsuit which reveals her sides in a subtle way.
To make this jumpsuit, select the options on the left. To get a flawless finish, we recommend lining the top. For the rest, just follow the instructions!
About fabrics
- Main fabric and lining: this fabric is no longer available, instead we recommend this stretch polyester crepe available from Nuances Fabrics.
Marie-Odile is wearing a blazer suit, perfect for a trendy working girl look.
To make this jumpsuit, we decided to add a waistband to create a link between the top and the bottom and to allow sewing a zip fly instead of a side or back zip fastening. The waistband is slightly longer so that it matches both the length of the trousers and the length of the blazer.
About fabrics
- Main fabric: Cobble double wool crepe, available from Stragier.
